It has truly been an odd year. Forgetting exactly what we're all living through in various ways at the moment, the fact it's nearly mid-August and we're not even in pre-season yet is weird enough.
When the pandemic hit the Premier League back in March, I was pretty indifferent to losing Spurs. We weren't exactly setting the world alight and, just under 12 months from one of our best days ever, the whole season had been a massive letdown.
When matches returned in July, my pessimism had somewhat dissipated and I was very much looking forward to a feast of football to keep me company in lockdown. Like the rollercoaster that these last 6 months have been, Spurs managed to very quickly let us all down, and I think most would agree the low point in post-COVID football was the disaster at Sheffield United.
At that point, there wasn't a whole lot to look forward to. We seemed destined to finish in 9th or 10th, and we still had a few more matches to grin and bear through, with none more threatening than that of the first North London Derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As we all know now, that match seemed to be exactly what we needed and kicked off a mini-run with 6 more points coming against Newcastle and Leicester. Suddenly, things were rosy(ish) again. We just scraped through to 6th spot, which looks reasonable all things considered, and can enjoy some European football next year, even though we all know it's not where we want to be.

Obviously we haven't been able to meet at pubs for a long time. There was a glimmer of hope when football came back in July, but, writing this from Melbourne, it feels like a while until things will be back to normal in terms of packing into a pub to watch a match together.
However, the OzSpurs Committee has been busy-as-ever working behind the scenes, and we welcome you to the latest version of our website. We're not far away from celebrating 20 years on the web, and this is our seventh major design change, but only the second time we have truly changed the underlying technology.
This new site is more than just a website though; we are building it as a platform for the next 10 years of OzSpurs. We want to serve our members and Spurs fans in Australia better, and this is the first step in that.
We have a small team of four working on the site and will be steadily rolling out features over the next 12 months. We hope you enjoy it.
